Jackie Robinson on why the NY Post let him go – he was too Republican…

No one will ever convince me that the Post acted in an honest manner. I believe the simple truth is that they became somewhat alarmed when they realized that I really meant to write what I believed. There is a peculiar parallel between some of our great Northern “liberals” and some of our outstanding Southern liberals.

Some of the people in both classes share the deep-seated convictions that only their convictions can possibly be the right ones. They both inevitably say the same thing: “We know the Negro and what is best for him.”

Dude Where’s My Brain

January 7, 2011

So this article is about the MSM treating Dem politicians better than R’s. That’s old news to me, however I noticed this in the comments about the surfboard photo:

Whats worse is the surfer photo is clearly staged. First, nobody travels with boards not in surfboard travel bags. Besides protection, it keeps the wax off you your Mens Warehouse suit when you carry it, you nitwits.

Some brilliant staffer thought this would be a great idea to connect with the youth vote, or some crap like that, and didn’t like the way the board bags looked (“guys, take the boards out of the bag so we can see them. And take those leashes off, that doesn’t look good”). Also, only one of the guys knows how to carry the board correctly. Pathetic.

So my observation is this administration is starting it’s 3rd year and they’re still making bonehead mistakes. Not that this is foreign policy type of stuff, but seriously – wasn’t this supposed to be the cream of the crop Ivy League grads and all that crap?

Christie in 2012

For those who don’t know about Chris Christie, this is just one of the reasons why he’s projected as a possible 2012 presidential candidate for the Republicans.

Healthcare Ramblings…

March 14, 2010

How is it that Republicans are responsible for the demise of healthcare reform when Democrats own majorities in both houses of Congress and possess the greatness of The One? Either Repubs have some magic Kryptonite in their possession or the Dems were never as strong as their media enablers would have everyone believe.

Then there’s the argument that healthcare reform is unpopular because the vast majority of America is too stupid to avoid being manipulated by Republican scare tactics. But then those same stupid Americans have a hard time swallowing the obvious political payback occurring between the Democrats and their union supporters. Why can’t stupid Americans stay stupid when it comes to the Dem’s political tricks?

Finally, congress is mandating that everyone must pay into this wonderful plan of theirs – except members of congress.

Seriously… this is just too lame to believe.

More Truth Than Humor

Cliffy Speaks

January 17, 2010

This from John Ratzenberger (Cliff Claven of the TV show Cheers) speaking at a Scott Brown rally in Massachusetts:

This isn’t the Democratic party of our fathers and grandfathers. This is the party of Woodstock hippies.  I was at Woodstock — I built the stage. And when everything fell apart, and people were fighting for peanut-butter sandwiches, it was the National Guard who came in and saved the same people who were protesting them. So when Hillary Clinton a few years ago wanted to build a Woodstock memorial, I said it should be a statue of a National Guardsman feeding a crying hippie.
