How Obama Marginalized the Democrats

November 30, 2014

Every once in a while the a politician slips up and speaks the truth…

Democrats have spent the past six years attempting a divide and conquer strategy aimed at small slices of the population while ignoring everyone else. Schumer learned a belated lesson from the midterms, and acknowledged it this week. Some Democrats still haven’t gotten the message.

And this was in the comments:

The Democrats could have taken out the credit card and bought a host of real improvements that they could have pointed at for generations… A vigorous, active stimulus would then have shown the Democrats could be trusted to govern and made something like, say, Medicare-for-all much more possible.

Meager Returns for the Democrats’ Biggest Donor –

November 8, 2014

Remember this the next time Republicans are accused of being the party of Big Money.

In the last days before the midterm elections, Tom Steyer, the billionaire environmentalist who spent at least $57 million of his own money to influence Tuesday’s outcome — more than any other single donor — set off on a frenetic get-out-the-vote tour to Colorado, Iowa and finally New Hampshire. There, he told business owners in Portsmouth that climate change is an economic issue, thanked college students in Durham for knocking on doors, and gave a pep talk to canvassers in Dover before they fanned out to collect voter data on their smartphones. After all that, Mr. Steyer appears to have largely wasted his time and money.

Hey Liberal Democrats – FUCK YOU!

September 12, 2014

When George W. Bush considered invading Iraq without a declaration of war, the Democrats wanted to try him for war crimes in The Hague. When Obama does the same thing … crickets.

Mark Morford – Put Down Your Pen and Walk Away

August 5, 2014

Written in 2008 by SFGate columnist Mark Morford. A true “Lightworker” wouldn’t need to stretch constitutional rules to get around a single branch of government having a majority of Republicans.

Dismiss it all you like, but I’ve heard from far too many enormously smart, wise, spiritually attuned people who’ve been intuitively blown away by Obama’s presence – not speeches, not policies, but sheer presence – to say it’s just a clever marketing ploy, a slick gambit carefully orchestrated by hotshot campaign organizers who, once Obama gets into office, will suddenly turn from perky optimists to vile soul-sucking lobbyist whores, with Obama as their suddenly evil, cackling overlord.

Here’s where it gets gooey. Many spiritually advanced people I know not coweringly religious, mind you, but deeply spiritual identify Obama as a Lightworker, that rare kind of attuned being who has the ability to lead us not merely to new foreign policies or health care plans or whatnot, but who can actually help usher in a new way of being on the planet, of relating and connecting and engaging with this bizarre earthly experiment. These kinds of people actually help us evolve. They are philosophers and peacemakers of a very high order, and they speak not just to reason or emotion, but to the soul.

The unusual thing is, true Lightworkers almost never appear on such a brutal, spiritually demeaning stage as national politics. This is why Obama is so rare. And this why he is so often compared to Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr., to those leaders in our culture whose stirring vibrations still resonate throughout our short history.

Obama isn’t worthy of holding Kennedy’s jock strap. And he had a chance to build on the works of MLK, but instead chose to demean his opponents and divide the country between the have’s and have-nots. That’s not a leader who speaks to the soul – it’s a manipulator who lies to the simple minded.

Katrina, Sandy, and the Press

June 19, 2014

Another reason why nobody believes the news anymore…

A dangerous storm destroys or damages the homes of entire communities. Hundreds of thousands languish in the storm’s aftermath while waiting for federal and state aid to help them rebuild. Governmental incompetence prolongs the recovery period indefinitely. This sounds like the story of Hurricane Katrina, but could apply equally as well to the saga of superstorm Sandy. When the storm hit in 2012, damaging around 200,000 homes in New York and New Jersey, President Obama said, “My message to the federal government: No bureaucracy, no red tape.”

But seventeen months later, the reality has been vastly different, according a new WSJ piece. Of the 15,000 New York residents who have applied for relief, only 352 have received it; of the 11,500 eligible New Jersey residents, only 2,032 have been able to start rebuilding or repairing their homes.

For all the similarities between Katrina and Sandy, however, there’s one big difference: curiously, we hear a lot less about Sandy than we did about Katrina. Stories like this used to get a lot of ink when George W. Bush was in the White House and the press couldn’t say enough about the botched recovery after Katrina. But now that the greatest President since Lincoln occupies the Oval Office, trivial stories like agonizingly slow hurricane recoveries bore our enlightened press corps to tears.
