March 28, 2014

Two-gun Yee is the third Democrat state senator to be arrested in California this week. Earlier it was state Sen. Rod Wright (perjury) and then Ron Calderon (bribery).

What a crime wave, in less than one week. So guess what most of the networks led with on their newscasts last night? The 5-month-old story of Gov. Chris Christie’s Bridgegate. Because it has one thing going for it that none of these other stories had, the only thing that matters to the corrupt American media.

Christie is a Republican.

Redundancies: Washington Post and/or Crap

March 22, 2014

This is why I hate the press:

Let me offer an alternative explanation of why the Washington Post published their Keystone/Koch smear:

1) The Washington Post in general, and Mufson and Eilperin in particular, are agents of the Left, the environmental movement and the Democratic Party.

2) The Keystone Pipeline is a problem for the Democratic Party because 60% of voters want the pipeline built, while the party’s left-wing base insists that it not be approved.

3) The Keystone Pipeline is popular because it would broadly benefit the American people by creating large numbers of jobs, making gasoline more plentiful and bringing down the cost of energy.

4) Therefore, the Democratic Party tries to distract from the real issues surrounding the pipeline by claiming, falsely, that its proponents are merely tools of the billionaire Koch brothers–who, in fact, have nothing to do with Keystone one way or the other.

5) The Post published its article to assist the Democratic Party with its anti-Keystone talking points.

Pope Warns Mobsters – “Hell Awaits You”

March 22, 2014

I haven’t been paying attention to recent pontiffs but this guy more and more appears to be the real deal – I think he will win many in support of his way.

Addressing these absentee mafiosi, Francis was unsparing:

“This life that you live now won’t give you pleasure. It won’t give you joy or happiness,” he said. “Blood-stained money, blood-stained power, you can’t bring it with you to your next life. Repent. There’s still time to not end up in hell, which is what awaits you if you continue on this path.”

Peggy Noonan: American Foreign Policy?

March 14, 2014

A great article examining American foreign policy vs. recent aggression by Vladimir Putin.

A great question for the future: Will Mr. Putin ever respect an American president again? He knows our political situation, knows we’re a 50-50 nation, would assume we’re blocked from consensus barring unusual circumstances such as a direct attack. He’s not impressed by our culture or our economy. He might also make inferences from America’s demographic shifts. If we are a more non-European nation than we were 30 years ago, might he think us less likely to be engaged by—and enraged by—unfortunate dramas playing out in Europe? Mr. Putin, as Henry Kissinger says, is a serious strategist acting on serious perceived imperatives. He would make a point of figuring out the facts of his potential foe.

And with both Obama and John Kerry stomping for global warming initiatives, Noonan closes with this:

Not being George W. Bush is not a foreign policy. Not invading countries is not a foreign policy. Wishing to demonstrate your sophistication by announcing you are unencumbered by the false historical narratives of the past is not a foreign policy. Assuming the world will be nice if we’re not militarist is not a foreign policy.

What is our foreign policy? Disliking global warming?

Obama Proposal Targets For-Profit Colleges Over Student Debt

March 14, 2014

Doesn’t this apply to nearly every college out there offering liberal arts degrees? Seriously – how many government jobs are there for women, gender, & sexuality majors?

The Obama administration is proposing new rules designed to protect students at for-profit colleges from amassing huge debt they can’t pay off — and still pass judicial muster after a previous version was thrown out by a federal judge.

The proposed regulations would penalize programs that produce graduates without the training needed to find a job with a salary that will allow them to pay off their debt. Schools, for-profit or not, that don’t comply would lose access to the federal student aid programs.

Ottawa: Where’s All the Canadian Erotica?

March 11, 2014

You have freaking got to be kidding me… the Canadian porn channels are getting slapped by the government for not showing enough homegrown porn.

Just sad.

The National Post reports that three Canadian erotica channels have earned a government reprimand for not showing enough home-grown content:

“Wednesday, the CRTC issued a broadcast notice saying AOV Adult Movie Channel, XXX Action Clips and the gay-oriented Maleflixxx were all failing to reach the required 35% threshold for Canadian content.

Based on a 24-hour broadcast schedule, that translates to about 8.5 hours of Canadian erotica a day.”

So who is the government bureaucrat responsible for analyzing all that porn? “Rough day at the office, honey?”
